Was this game the beginning of the end for Steve McClaren at Newcastle United? Papiss Cisse scored first, but the Magpies didn’t hold on to their lead for long.

James McArthur struck just four minutes later, before Yannick Bolasie added two, Wilfried Zaha one and McArthur the fifth.

As far as defeats go, this one probably hurt the most for the Toon Army and their travelling support. The only good thing about this game was that Yohan Cabaye didn’t get on the score sheet.

Alan Pardew got his revenge for this fixture, but it won’t be the same for the return leg at St. James’ Park.
