Jack Wilshere tussled with Newcastle outcasts Henri Saivet and Sylvain Marveaux in the U21 game on Friday night.

Both Toon midfielders were getting much needed game time with the second string outfit as they came across Euro 2016 hopeful Wilshere seeking to prove his fitness.

The Gunners brushed aside the Magpies challenge, beating them 3-1, in which all four goals were scored in the first half.

Not only that, but Newcastle couldn’t even hit the back of the net under their own steam as Arsenal man Krystian Bielik put the ball past his own goalkeeper.

Marveaux was seeking to prove his fitness for the final run six games of the season, while Saivet would have been hoping to catch the eye of manager Rafa Benitez and his team.

The French attacker hasn’t featured at all this campaign, and the last time Saivet made the pitch was in February.
