Newcastle United legend Steve Harper stayed at the club for over 10 years, making 179 appearances in the process.

After leaving the Magpies to join Hull City, he found himself at Sunderland on a short-term deal – and a last minute pay day.

The Toon Army backlash was horrible: he was forced off Twitter due to the abuse from Newcastle fans, and hasn’t been on the social media site since.
