Five players who could replace Coloccini as captain

With the news that Fabricio Coloccini may be stripped of his captaincy, we look at five players who could do the job.

The Express actually reported that Jonjo Shelvey had been named the new Magpies skipper, although no official word has come out of St. James’ Park on the matter.

Many Toon fans have been vocal on the matter, while a large portion of them couldn’t understand why the Argentine defender was handed a contract extension and confirmed as the captain for this season.

His has come under fire for his lack of vocals on the pitch, and a lack of rapport with the fans, especially during the tough times that the club have had to endure of late.
