Steve Harper

Steve Harper is another Sunderland born lad to have been snapped up by Newcastle United.

After joining the club in 1993, he was unlucky enough to have been second fiddle to a number of goalkeepers, from Shay Given to Pavel Srnicek and Shaka Hislop.

Despite being at the club for 20 years, Harper only made 157 appearances and is currently with Sunderland on a short term deal.
