Shola Ameobi

Shola Ameobi had a career at Newcastle United that lasted from 2000 until 2014, when the curtains finally closed on his St. James’ Park life.

Despite only scoring 53 times in 312 appearances, Ameobi became a cult figure on Tyneside for his propensity to hit the back of the net against hated rivals Sunderland.

After leaving the Magpies, he played for Gaziantep BB in Turkey, Crystal Palace, Bolton Wanderers and is currently at Fleetwood Town.
