Nile Ranger

Nile Ranger signed for Newcastle United in 2008, after director of football Dennis Wise brought the striker to Tyneside.

After grabbing 15 goals during his first season in the Magpies U18 side, and was awarded a three-and-a-half year deal. After being awarded a man of the match award after his first senior start, against Leicester City, the crowd gave Ranger a standing ovation.

The London born attacker made over 50 appearances in the black and white shirt, before loan spells at Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday. He is now at Blackpool, and is a symbol of young players having too much too soon.
