The Liverpool Echo reported that Newcastle were due to hijak Liverpool’s deal for Mohamed Salah as the Reds were dithering over a price for the winger.

History proves how wrong the article was, as he would eventually arrive at Chelsea during the January transfer window. Now unfancied by the club, he has excelled on loan at two different Serie A sides – and his future probably lies away from Stamford Bridge.
