Jordan Veretout

Newcastle United were, and are, obsessed with signing French players. Jordan Veretout is no exception.

After some steady seasons in Ligue One, the Magpies were reported to be interested in Veretout. For one reason or another, the move never materialised. Mark Douglas from the Chronicle called him the best French midfielder you have never heard of, but his time in the Premier League hasn’t been outstanding.

He since joined Aston Villa, and is in the middle of a relegation battle.
