Hatem Ben Arfa was once one of the most highly rated young footballers in Europe, but rumors of a bad attitude persisted wherever he went.

After joining the Magpies on loan, Ben Arfa had his leg broken by Nigel de Jong and didn’t feature against until the next season.

The Frenchman did enough to convert his temporary deal into a permanent one – and scored a number of spectacular goals. It all went sour in the last year of Alan Pardew’s reign, and Ben Arfa is now reborn at Nice.
