Vurnon Anita

Vurnon Anita was Newcastle United’s second foray into the Dutch transfer market, and followed his former league mate Cheick Tiote to St. James’ Park.

After being picked up from Ajax for £5m, Anita took some time to find his groove at the club. Under Alan Pardew he never got a prolonged period in the team – something Steve McClaren is putting right.

Again, he is a player whose time has been solid, but not spectacular.

Transfer rating: 7/10
