Gabriel Obertan

Gabriel Obertan was a footballer with a promising future when he joined Manchester United from Bordeaux after 54 league appearances.

However, it quickly became apparent that he wasn’t of the quality that Sir Alex Ferguson required on his man and so he was shipped on to Newcastle United.

Despite impressing in parts, injury has plagued his time at St. James’ Park. Sometimes excellent, often mediocre, Obertan will go down in history as an decent but unspectacular signing.

Transfer rating: 6/10
