Sylvain Marveaux

Sylvain Marveaux was another Frenchman signed on a free transfer who never got his Newcastle United career off the ground.

He has made 31 appearances since 2011, but spent last season away from the club on loan at Guingamp – where he scored one goal.

Despite the failings of the squad this season, Marveaux hasn’t been able to play one minute of football, and with his contract up at the end of the season his time on Tyneside is surely over.
