Siem de Jong

Siem de Jong, brother of Luuk, was signed by Alan Pardew during his last transfer window at the club.

Bought from Ajax for around £6m, De Jong was signed to a six-year deal. The six cap Dutch international has only played 10 times in the league for the Magpies, suffering a terrible run of injuries in his first season at the club.

Despite being fit for the 2015/2016 campaign, the former Ajax captain has only made eight substitute appearances, playing 137 minutes. Much more is expected for a decorated Eredivisie player.

Transfer rating: 3/10
