Luuk de Jong

Luuk de Jong was once a highly coveted striker, but two bad spells with Borussia Monchengladbach and Newcastle United had ruined his reputation.

After signing on loan from Monchengladbach, he scored zero goals and made one assist in 12 league appearances as he struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League.

De Jong initially earned his move to Germany after scoring 39 goals in 65 starts, but in 17 Bundesliga starts the brother of Siem only scored six times.

Now as PSV Eindhoven, the striker has scored 33 goals in 44 games.
