West Bromwich Albion dominated the game in regards to position, but could never get on the score sheet.

Jonny Evans missed an excellent chance in the first half, while Aleksandar Mitrovic hit the post for the away side.

The goal was reserved for the second stanza, after a Moussa Sissoko free kick glanced off a Newcastle United player and fell kindly for Perez, who buried it.

The Magpies largely played the game on the break, and created a few really good chances – but once again finishing was a let down as the game finished 1-0.
