Four are nearing fitness

Newcastle United have suffered something of an injury crisis in recent weeks, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.

During his pre-Everton press conference, Steve McClaren said that Jamaal Lascelles, Rolando Aarons, Steven Taylor and Emmanuel Riviere are nearly ready to play football again.

He explained: “Jamaal trained this morning. Rolando will by the end of the week and Riviere next week. Taylor is coming along well.”
