Beating Aston Villa could start something special

Steve McClaren has managed to do what no Newcastle United boss has done for a long time – win two games in a row.

Now he is targeting three, and thinks that if he does it could start something special on Tyneside. Certainly, the city could do with a return of the feel good factor, and the taste of victory will only help that.

Speaking ahead of the game, McClaren said: “Aston Villa is an opportunity and a challenge to kick on and go on. Can we take it? Are we ready to do it?

“Let’s not get expectations high. We have to do exactly what we have been doing to get results.”
