Steve McClaren thinks Aston Villa are better than the league table suggests

Head coach Steve McClaren can’t work out how Aston Villa are in the situation they currently find themselves in.

With only six points gained this season, the Midlands side are on of the early favourites for the drop – but McClaren believes they are better than that.

Speaking ahead of the weekend’s action, he said: “(Villa) is a totally different game. I’ve watched them three or four times and they have very good players.

“How they are only on six points, I don’t know because they have very good players.”
