2. Steve McClaren thinks Tottenham could have challenged for the title

Steve McClaren thinks that Mauricio Pochettino could have got Tottenham Hotspur challenging for the title, had the Europa League not got in the way.

He was reported by the club on Twitter as saying: “(Spurs) are a good team. They have a good squad of players and they play with a very high intensity.
“If Spurs weren’t in the Europa League they would be title contenders.”

He will undoubtedly want to capatalise on any tired legs from Spurs’ trip to Monaco on Thursday night for their European clash – although star striker Harry Kane will be rested.
