Throughout the years, Newcastle United has struggled but that doesn’t mean that the club hasn’t had it’s fair share of greats. We’ve seen the likes of Kevin Keegan, Alan Shearer, and more come through St. James’s Park.

While the club hasn’t maintained a competitive level of play in the past decade, we’ve still seen some great football from some great players. Now with the club in turmoil due to poor ownership, it is a good time to look back on some of the glory days and reflect back on the talent we have seen in the black and white stripes.

Using a simple lineup of 4-4-2, we have compiled what we here at Newcastle Toons believe to be the best starting XI in Newcastle United’s history. These range from the earliest days of Newcastle United to our modern day greats who lit up the Premier League with their ability and talent.

Is anyone missing? Anyone you don’t think belongs in this list? Let us know!
