Andy Carroll

Every year Andy Carroll gets linked with a return to Newcastle United.

Life just hasn’t been the same on Tyneside since the lanky Geordie left for Liverpool, and then London. But the striker has struggled for fitness since that move, and has only shown flashes of brilliance.

The club would have to beat their transfer record to land the player, which currently stands at £16m – the fee they paid for Michael Owen.

The latest link comes via the Shields Gazette, who claim the player would be open to a move back home.
