Newcastle 1 – 1 Norwich (1st September, 1987)

This was the game in which Mirandinha, the first Brazilian to play in the Premier League, made his debut for Newcastle.

The South American won four caps for his country, all in the same year he made his Magpies debut. Coincidence?

Peter Jackson scored the only Newcastle goal of the game, while Paul Gascoigne started for his hometown club.
