Amdy Faye

Amdy Faye joined Newcastle United in January 2005 for a fee of £2m, which is probably his only saving grace.

Strangely, the Toon hierarchy saw Faye playing 47 times for Portsmouth before making the switch to Tyneside. After 31 very unconvincing games and no goals, he moved to Charlton Athletic before playing for Rangers, Stoke City and Leeds United.
