This fan got it in one: financial stability isn’t enough to put a good team together. Newcastle United haven’t got enough good people in the right position, either on or off the pitch.

The club heirarchy, headed by Lee Charnley, hasn’t recruited well and could now face a financially ruinous drop to the Championship.
