Rafa Benitez has been working the Newcastle United squad hard.

In the week leading up to the Sunderland game, Benitez reported that the team has been training as normal, apart from a double training session on Friday to work on their tactics.

The Chronicle reported that the Spanish boss said: “We organised a double training session because we needed to prepare tactically.

“There were two or three things that we wanted to do.”
