Former Ajax man Siem de Jong made his first appearance since picking up a strange eye injury in the final few months of Steve McClaren’s reign.

Speaking after the game, nufc.co.uk reported that he said: “Of course it’s disappointing. You want to win every game, and we need the points.

“We had a few opportunities – not big chances – and maybe in the end we could have got a draw, but Leicester are a difficult team to play against.”
