Alan Shearer

The former Newcastle United striker and Match of the Day pundit  has been very critical of Newcastle United in the past.

On this occasion, it was no different as Shearer laid into the performance Steve McClaren’s men put on.

Tweeting after the game, the striker said: “I preferred it when Newcastle didn’t try in the Cups. At least then we had an excuse!”
