Miguel Almiron must start for Newcastle United against Huddersfield Town this weekend.

Newcastle United have a favorable match against Huddersfield Town this weekend and Miguel Almiron must start in his home debut against the worst team in the Premier League. The former MLS star made his debut against Wolverhampton and gave the Toon Army a pleasant preview of what he brings to the team in 19 minutes.

Almiron looked good in his Premier League debut with Newcastle against a quality opponent that will most likely play in the UEFA Europa League next season. The Paraguayan international continued to impress supporters with his good form against CSKA Moscow in Spain this past weekend, a match which ended in a 1-1 draw.

Almiron, like every other player, was only in the game for 45 minutes and he showed his team and fans that he can be the playmaker they have been longing for. On multiple occasions, Newcastle’s new signing dribbled around defenders and set his teammates up with nice passes in good scoring positions, but those on the receiving end failed to execute their shots properly.

Jamaal Lascelles went on record to state that the other players quickly recognized how much talent and potential Almiron had in his first few training sessions. Rafa Benitez is also quite impressed with how quickly his star player has developed chemistry with his new teammates and how comfortable he is on the ball despite adjusting to English football.

Start Miggy vs. Huddersfield Town

It will still take Almiron some time to fully adjust to his transition from the United States to England, but he has sufficient talent to cause major problems for Huddersfield Town. The Terriers are all but officially relegated and their weak back-line will not be able to cope with Almiron’s pace, passing skills and shooting precision.

Almiron has trained with Atlanta United before making his move and has already played for the Magpies against two quality opponents. One can only imagine the damage he can cause against Huddersfield if he is granted 90 minutes of football at St. James’ Park this weekend.
