Nottingham Forest fans are throwing a fit after hearing of Newcastle United’s successful appeal to the FA over the two red cards received in a match that had football fans around the world fuming.

Fans have called the decision favoritism, and undermining the referee that they themselves had employed for the match. However, throughout the entire game, poor game management was key on part of Stephen Martin. Not the actor.

Well, it is in my mind that rescinding those red cards was right. If Nottingham Forest fans can’t see past the fact that their beloved Lansbury had played an extremely dirty game against the club, then they’re blind. Newcastle United never deserved the penalty or red card, and what about that handball guys? Shame.

More from Newcastle Toons

The only travesty about rescinding the red cards, is that we had to appeal them in the first place. Newcastle United was still playing a strong game with just nine men. What does that say about Nottingham Forest?

A club once proud of its success and its fans being respectable now complaining even after they already won. Moving forward, hopefully problems like these don’t arise again. And before you call the EFL or FA playing favoritism, look at who won the match and the manner in which it was won.

Favoritism? Likely Nottingham Forest during that match. As for overturning the red cards. It was the right thing to do after Newcastle was cheated out of a match that should have been theirs to win.

My respect for Nottingham Forest fans has gone from high to low after their complaints about the overturning of the red cards. You can read their whining here.
