Newcastle United take on Crystal Palace away from home on Saturday, and will look to recover from their loss against Leicester City.

The Magpies were far from their best against the Foxes, and a dressing down from head coach Steve McLaren should provide them with the motivation to beat former manager Alan Pardew’s team.

Palace are fresh off the back of their own defeat – a 1-0 smash and grab loss against fellow north-east strugglers Sunderland.

They will be looking to rebound strongly from that defeat, and offer plenty of danger down the wings through Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha.

With the excellent Yohan Cabaye in midfield, the Eagles are a team who can beat nearly anyone when the play well – and Newcastle will have to be on their guard.

Cheick Tiote will miss the game due to injury, so McLaren will have an interesting decision to make in regards to his central midfielders. Does he move Moussa Sissoko into the middle, or will Siem de Jong be awarded his first start of the season?
